Obama’s ‘Moms Return to School’ Government Grant Scholarship

Updated: January 8, 2017

Are you aware that the Obama administration is committed to assisting single moms to return to school? So many moms are simply not aware that the Obama’s ‘Moms Return to School’ Government Grant Scholarship is available to them however you should find out all you can about this opportunity as there are many benefits for you!

Even though the economy is not so great at the moment, it is looking up and the worst is behind us. It is a great time for moms to consider college or university study. You will be in great demand as you’ll have the skills and qualifications needed for a capable workforce: something that employers will be looking for.

You will be in the best possible position to get the job that YOU have always wanted! And the best part is that scholarships don’t have to be paid back, unlike student loans.

Here are some facts about the federal government scholarship and grants available to moms and all women:

Federal Pell Grant

Obama has raised the amount of the Federal Pell Grant up to $5100 instead of $4050. He may even raise it more soon. So if you are a single mom, working mom or stay at home mom then this is simply one of the best ways to have your college education paid for.

How to Apply

You can apply for the scholarship by selecting a college or university which is holding the course or program that you wish to study. You simply then fill out the deferral FAFSA form and submit it.

Studying Moms get Tax Benefits

If you are a mother who is studying at college or university then you can take advantage of the excellent American Opportunity Tax Credit program which lets you get your first $4000 of higher education absolutely free. This coupled with your scholarship means that you really aren’t spending any money at all!

Online Study and Scholarships

You can apply for Obama’s ‘Moms Return to School’ Government Grant Scholarship program if you wish to study via online education. This is often the best choice for moms who can’t or don’t want to leave the family at home in order to go and study at a campus.

So give it a go and see if you qualify for Obama’s moms scholarships and grants.

At the same time, you can apply for other mom scholarships as these are perfectly suited for your situation as a busy mom who needs financial assistance for study. All I can say is – go for it!

I am a 29 year old single mother who is enrolled in online school at Ultimate Medical Academy to obtain my Associates in Medical Billing and Coding. I want to better my life and that of my 7 year old little girl. In order to do that I decided to further my education, but I do not have the money to cover the expenses. I am currently trying to find a job, but it is very hard to find someone who will hire me when there’s only certain times I can work due to not being able to find someone to watch my child when she’s not in school. I really want to set a good example for her and provide for her. I have been putting in applications in everywhere for any position. Please help me be able to find scholarships or grants so that I can continue my education and be able to support my child and be a good roe model for her.

I am a single mother of 4 (ages ranging from 8, 6, 4 and 4 months). I have been through more than enough and just cant seem to move forward. I have done all that was necessary to get to where I am today and I would like to step back into the world by first going back to college to finish my Business Careers Degree that I started in 2008. I have intentions to open a business that will help out the homelessness here on Maui, Hawaii. This will create jobs for those on Furlough, in the homeless shelters, in recovery and for those who have skills and talents but no degree first before I make jobs available to those who have. These homes will help single mothers like myself, single fathers, those in recovery, create stable housing for those in programs, those who have vouchers for Section 8, and of course myself. I have a work history that qualifies me for more minimum wage jobs then a job where I can raise my children in simple comfort. I do have an outstanding loan that I made and currently can only afford $10.00 a month to pay it off. Please if you can help or lead me in the right direction I would really appreciate it.

I have wanted to be a paid artist in botanical paintings for years. I have waited to continue my art education to raise my 2 sons. Now is my time. I believe the botanical society 27 month course with the botanical society perfect. They offer jobs after training. It is $2700 for fee. It is a mail study. They send monthly assignments and return my painting back to tutors for grading and critic. I am on social security for disability for many years, diagnosed with bi polar i attended a clinic for 20 years. At 20 years there i thought my illness should be better. Since i have had 7 abuses by seveeral abusers for years each i found a therapist in complex ptsd and bi polar. I had been on so many medicines i couldnt think straight. Now having changed drs i am getting better. A long road ahead. But my skills as an artist makes me so determined to study and attend the botanical societys courses, 27 months for $2500, i can make a difference in my family and support myself better. My dream. My love for art drives me to a better life. Costs of living and health insurance has risen, i have doctor bills from 2015 i cant pay. My out of pocket insurance is now $2500. I am hospitalized for colitis, mental issues that crunch my income, medications copays for medications cost $100 a month also. I have had a dream since childhood to be a paid artist and i believe i can, thats why i ask for help

I am a single mother of a soon to be 10 year old little girl and the caregiver for my 91 year old grandmother. Our current circumstance makes it difficult for me to hold down a full time job. I want to give my daughter her best chance at life (like every parent). I do not receive any benefits from the state. we are always declined or our paperwork is lost etc. i would really love to continue my education so that I may provide the things my grandmother and child need to survive. I have applied for government assistance before and have been denied without reason. my income falls below poverty line. i am an able bodied individual that does not wish to be on government assistance but unfortunately am in need of it. This cannot be something new. There must be someone that has known this struggle. My hope is that that person reads this and can give some advice. some instruction. so that i may give the people that depend on me what they need. thank you for reading. be well.

My wife already has a 4 year degree earned with a full ride academic scholarship and would like to go back to school since she is not have much success returning to the workforce. Who would have thought that a person is of no use to the working world just because they spent a few years home raising their kids. It’s just not right. Our family is still trying to recover from the great recession and any help financially for her schooling would be appreciated.
