Updated: September 9, 2014

You may have heard about the Soroptimist Women’s Opportunity Awards. Now renamed as the Live Your Dream Awards, these education grants are aimed at women specifically.

With more than 1200 women receiving funds through this program every year, it is a very important grants program for women who may have experienced difficulties in life, and thus left in a position where paying for further education whilst maintaining the family finances is very tough, or often impossible.

Learn the basics about the Live Your Dream Awards here, so you can decide whether you will be able to apply for this very generous financial assistance that can help you and your family out as you embark on your new path to further education and career development.

How Much Money Can You Get?
There are three levels of awards that you can receive with this program, depending upon which level you are eligible for. These are:

1. Club Level – variable amounts of financial awards, with the chance of also being awarded at the region level of up to $5000.
2. Region Level – $3000 or $5000
3. International Level – three awards available up to $10,000.

What can the Live Your Dream grants be used for?
THe awards are able to be used to offset the most common (and expensive) costs associated with studying or training for a new job. So this includes things like books, tuition, transport and importantly – childcare.

I just learned about this program and I really hope that I will be able to receive it, cause my goal in life is to be a RN. I know that I would be great at at cause the job would never be boring, and I love to talk to people and to help them so for me it wouldn’t even be like a job. I am married with 4 kids, and we are having alot of money problems, it just seems like it’s just one thing after the other all the time. Hopefully I can get this grant, cause I do have loans that are in default. Thanks Jessica
