Jeannette Rankin Women’s Scholarship Fund

The Jeannette Rankin Women’s Scholarship Fund is one of the most respected, well known and highly sought after scholarship programs for women. Their scholarships are aimed at women on low incomes, who are aged 35 years or older and who wish to improve their life through further education. Back to school moms are some of the biggest beneficiaries of this fund.

From humble beginnings when the first scholarship was awarded to the value of $500 in 1978, the Jeanette Rankin Women’s Scholarship Fund has grown to the point where it has given over $2 million to more than 750 women in need.

Are you eligible for this scholarship?

To qualify for a chance of receiving a scholarship from the Jeannette Ranking Fund, you need to meet the following basic criteria.

  • Be a 35 year old woman, or older
  • Be a US citizen or permanent US resident
  • Be on a low income
  • Be enrolled in or have acceptance to an accredited school
  • Be pursuing vocational education, technical education, your first bachelor degree, or an associate degree
  • Income Eligibility

    The income part of the eligbility requirements for this scholarship are calaculated on your total household income. So if you are a single mother and the sole income earner in your home, the maximum income to quality for this scholarship is $18,662. If you earn less than that amount as the sole earner in your home, you are considered low income and will meet that requirement for the Jeannette Rankin Women’s Scholarship.

    Applying for this scholarship is only the first step, of course. Once you have met the above basic requirements, the selectors will then look further into the more important details of your personal circumstances. They do this to ensure that awards from the Jeannette Rankin Women’s Scholarship Fund are going to the women who not only need it the most, but are going to be the most likely to reach their goals.

    • How you plan to use your education to give back to and benefit your community

      Hi my name is Tracy Hiers, I”m 45 years old, I been a single mom for over 26 children names are kadeidra who is 26, Kavon is 20, kyshana is 15 and kaynia is 11. I have tried many different jobs threw out my life, but the jobs that I have work don’t classified whom I am. My career job is being a nurse, I love giving care to people whom are in need. I am currently working as a certified nurse assistant. My goal is to become a RN. I always taught my children no matter how old you get. no matter what obstacle get in your way go after your dream, now that my children are a little older this is the perfect time for me to attend college. I am not enrolled into Nova community college. Thank you for taking the time out to review my application, I hope that I am one of your candidate choose.
