What Scholarships Will President Trump Have For Moms Going Back To School?

Updated: February 11, 2017

Moms who want to go back to school in 2017 or 2018 need to be applying for scholarships and grants now.

Many people are wondering how or if things will change under the new President Trump administration, especially when it comes to government educational grants and scholarships.

As yet, no announcements have been made in regards to student funding and financial aid for education. This means that the process for applying for financial assistance for your college education under President Obama still remains the same for now.

At the top of this list is of course the Pell Grant.

Pell Grant

So far there have been no changes announced to the Pell Grant, so you can still apply for this important financial aid from the federal government under President Trump.

Remember that to find out if you’ll be eligible to get any amount of money through the Federal Pell Grant, you need to submit your FAFSA

You can submit your FAFSA for the 2017–18 Pell Grant until June 30, 2018 so there’s still plenty of time to get your applications in before the deadline. It’s always recommended that you do it as soon as possible though, because some other federal student financial aid programs that also require the FAFSA only have limited funds available, and waiting too long to apply for those can mean you might miss out.

If you want to apply for financial assistance through a particular college, check their deadline because many will have a cut off around February to March, or even earlier.

Remember: applying for as many scholarships as you can puts you in the best position for receiving financial assistance, making it possible for you to go back to school as a mom.
